The Centre for the Study of Adult Literacy has created a library for adult learners that has many interesting and topical stories for adults.
There are a wide variety of topics, such as work, health, food, money, children, families, fiction, history, and science. Each category has stories in three levels of difficulty: easier, medium, and hard. You can read the story three times and then answer questions about the reading to test your understanding.
In the Jobs and Work category, there are stories about looking for jobs, interviews, references, working hard, and getting to work on time.
